Coaching

I create a customized plan for each client I collaborate with based on their current needs, values and goals. In addition to traditional coaching, I offer a dynamic blend of other modalities to enhance growth and meet desired outcomes. With a variety of healing approaches in my background, I know the value of weaving numerous ways of being into everyday life. For this reason, I incorporate creative process, yoga, guided meditation and movement therapy into work with my clients when it is agreed upon and makes sense for them. When woven into the coaching relationship, these approaches can greatly enhance the desired outcome for individuals and support them even further.

Creative Process

Many of my clients find using simple creative process in conjunction with our coaching to be very helpful. This addition, while not at all required, can move you more deeply into yourself and more rapidly to your coaching goals by using the whole mind – left and right brain-  in service of your coaching work.
Creative process does not require any special skill or talent. We are story tellers, each and every one of us. We make and choose our stories based on our unique combination of beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, values and history. Working with images. color and narrative is powerful because the images point us to memories and meaning that our rational, logical left-brain may miss completely. We develop and are often able to reinvent our relationship to self and the world more flexibly when we take a creative approach. This can include mixing up routines, creating a collage, investigating a long held belief through a new lens, as well as other avenues of creative process.
Moving from the left brain (words and logic) to the right (symbol and creativity)  holds many benefits. As creativity is expressed, aspects of the self are transformed. The language of art and symbol have much to teach us. After many years of using these creative outlets, I continue to learn about myself in enriching and unexpected ways. Inviting imagination to enter into daily life through creative process is also a natural way to release tension.
As an experienced depth coach, I work with those who want to incorporate a little creativity, a lot or none at all.

Yoga

In addition to the cognitive work of coaching, yoga ties in the somatic ways of interacting with oneself. Through movement and verbal communication, the whole self can be heard, understood and aligned. Movement is a way of life, a path of awareness, discipline, insight, freedom, truth, reinvention and possibility.  A conscious movement practice is not just physical, it is also emotional, mental and spiritual. Aligning with the physical body opens doors that access greater depths and heights in the rest of the self. Yoga is one of the many paths that connects the dots within us, thus allowing for more connection with the rest of the world. Through mindfully building the foundation and finding alignment internally, the outer shape takes form. Yoga is not about striking a pose. Like all movement, yoga is about expressing truth in the moment. Meditation and mindful movement, combined with an ongoing coaching relationship, is a valuable way to engage life on a daily basis.

As a Certified Yoga Instructor with a strong personal practice, I lead others in discovering their bodies, minds and spirits. The cultivation of a foundational understanding of inner alignment and body mechanics builds self awareness, trust and confidence.

Meditation & Movement

Many of my clients benefit from learning how to meditate and move more consciously. With busy lives and full schedules, many of us become disconnected from ourselves and the natural world. Stepping outside, moving among the elements, breathing deeply, and slowing down are simple ways to realign with our true self, our spiritual side. With hectic lives, prioritizing this can be difficult without guidance from a coach.
Meditation is one way to regulate thoughts and unlock emotions that are held within. Clarity comes through intuitively connecting with nature and the self as it speaks to us. Meditation does not require a lot of time or experience. The benefits of meditation are accessible for beginners and advanced alike.

Movement is a way of accessing important change. The relationship with self is multifaceted. Nurturing the physical body is as vital as your mind in order to live an empowered life. Taking conscious steps when on a walk, focusing on breath, reciting a mantra, expressing an affirmation, planting and tending a garden are all ways to reconnect with the self, meditate, release and relax.
